Telangana’s municipal election results highlighted the Congress party’s strong performance. Out of 2996 wards in 116 municipalities, the state election commission announced results for 2853 wards. The Congress emerged victorious in 1497 wards, securing 67 municipalities. The opposition BRS party won 764 wards and gained control of 14 municipalities. The BJP secured 278 wards, while independents claimed 256. 35 municipalities resulted in a hung situation, with no party achieving full majority.

In Vaddepalli municipality of Mahbubnagar district, the All India Forward Bloc, supported by Telangana Jagruthi, claimed victory. In Jagityal, supporters of senior Congress leader Jeevan Reddy ran as independents, winning most seats, making it a hot topic.

Congress Dominates Corporations

In results from 7 corporations, the Congress triumphed in Mancherial, Ramagundam, Nalgonda, and Mahbubnagar. In Kothagudem, with 60 divisions, both Congress and CPI won 22 seats each. BRS secured 8, BJP 1, CPM 1, and others 6, making the chairman election highly competitive. The BRS announced support for CPI, intensifying the anticipation for the 16th mayoral elections. Karimnagar and Nizamabad corporations were won by the BJP. In Karimnagar, BJP claimed 31 out of 66 divisions, while BRS won 9, Congress 15, and others 11. In Nizamabad, BJP secured 20 seats, Congress 8, and others 9.

He credited the success to the hard work of countless Congress workers, showcasing their dedication and love for the party. He highlighted the people’s complete approval of the two years of governance, focusing on welfare and development programs.

This victory increases our responsibility, Reddy stated. He emphasized a commitment to transparency and further development in each municipality and corporation, ensuring the people’s continued trust in the future.
