Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the Roads and Buildings Minister, instructed officials to create a detailed report on the damage to State and National Highways due to recent heavy rains and floods.
During a review meeting at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat, officials reported losses amounting to ₹1,000 crore. Many culverts, minor bridges, and highway sections suffered severe damage. Komatireddy requested engineers document the structural lifespan of each asset and propose reconstruction plans where needed.
The Minister promised that the government would build long-lasting, high-quality roads using the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). He mentioned that tenders would be issued soon, and construction would start after the monsoon ends.
He instructed officials to expedite pending National Highway projects by obtaining early approvals from the Centre. He had already discussed the matter with Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who showed a positive response to the State’s requests.
Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju attended the meeting with senior officials and requested improvements for the Khanapur–Bellampalli and Utnoor–Gudiatnoor road sections. The Minister assured a positive outcome for these proposals.
