The Chilkur Balaji Temple in Hyderabad caused a traffic jam on Moinabad Road when they announced the distribution of Garuda Prasadam for childless women. Thousands of families lined up to receive the prasadam, leading to severe congestion.

Every year after Brahmotsavam, the priests at the Chilkur Balaji Temple offer Garuda Prasadam. This year, the distribution was announced on Friday, leading to a large turnout of people at the temple near Moinabad. The heavy traffic forced police to intervene and stop the distribution.

During the first day of Brahmotsavam at the Chilkur temple, a special ceremony takes place where a flag with a picture of Garuda is hoisted. This flag symbolizes an invitation to all deities to attend the festival. Childless women are given Garuda Prasadam on this day in the hopes of conceiving children.

The head priest of Chilkur temple, CS Rangarajan, mentioned that during Chaitra Masa Shukla Paksha Ekadashi, Garuda Prasadam was offered to many devotees. The turnout far exceeded expectations, with thousands more people showing up than anticipated. As a result, the distribution of prasadam had to be stopped on Friday due to the overwhelming crowd.
