Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) plans to plant 2.5 million trees in Hyderabad as part of the Anamahothsavam Plantation Programme 2025. This effort also involves giving out plants for homes across the city.
Officials said trees will be planted in various locations, including parks, neighborhoods, road medians, under flyovers, and open areas. They will also fill gaps in about 1,500 parks. The focus is on adding tall trees and bushes to boost the city’s greenery and biodiversity.
GHMC aims to make Hyderabad cleaner and greener, maintaining its reputation as a previous Green City Award winner.
Residents are encouraged to join the planting initiative. GHMC stated, “Each tree planted today helps create a healthier future for our children.” They invite everyone to help make Hyderabad the green capital of India.
