Goa police arrest Telangana resident for reckless driving near Morjim beach

A tourist from Telangana was arrested by Goa police for driving recklessly on the Morjim beach, where turtles nest. The man was driving a Honda City Car registered in Andhra Pradesh and was endangering human life. The patrolling team handed him over to Pernem Police, who have registered a case against him. The accused was identified as Sanyas Yadav from Telangana. He was arrested and later released on bail.

The Goa Tourism Department advisory strictly prohibits driving motor vehicles, including 2-wheelers, on beaches and will result in severe action, seizure of the vehicle, and arrest of the driver. In the past, many such cases were reported on the beaches of Goa where tourists take their cars on beaches and get stuck in the sand. The offense has been registered under section 279, 336 of the IPC. Pernem police are further investigating the case.
