In Hyderabad, preparations for Independence Day are underway with a special focus on school children. Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas, the State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha, Telangana, has instructed all District Educational Officers (DEOs) to plan district-level activities in government schools. The goal is to inspire patriotism and honor students for their academic success.
Celebrations will include cultural performances, NCC and Scouts displays, and honors for the top students from the SSC and Intermediate Examinations – 2025. Each district will select two boys and two girls from both SSC and Intermediate levels in government schools managed by the Directorate of School Education (DSE). These eight students per district will receive a cash award of Rs 10,000, along with certificates from the Head Office.
To facilitate these events, Rs 36.30 lakh has been allocated to the SNA accounts of 33 District Project Offices (DPOs). Each district gets Rs 1.10 lakh—Rs 30,000 for cultural programs and NCC/Scouts activities, and Rs 80,000 for student awards.
Cultural events will feature patriotic songs, dances, and skits to celebrate national pride. NCC and Scouts will perform drills and parades. The funds will cover costs like snacks, transportation, costumes, and stage preparation.
Toppers will receive their certificates in a respectful ceremony during the Independence Day event. This initiative highlights the government’s dedication to encouraging both educational success and civic responsibility among students.
