Muslims in Karimnagar district celebrated the end of their month-long fast, called ‘Roza’, during Ramzan and marked the occasion with Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday. The festival was celebrated in many areas across the district, with special prayers at Eidgahs, sermons by religious leaders, and recitations of the Qur’an. Muslims also invited their non-Muslim friends to their homes to share the joy and served semiya payasam. Leaders from various parties and public representatives greeted Muslims. Traffic was diverted in view of the prayers at Eidgahs and heavy security was provided by the police.
