Hyderabad: A groundbreaking collaboration between GSL Medical Institutions in India and Impuls Medical Institute in Uzbekistan has introduced a new MBBS program. This initiative marks the first academic partnership in the medical education sector between the two countries. The program strictly follows India’s National Medical Commission (NMC) Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate (FMGL) Regulations.

This program responds to the NMC’s advisory from July 21, 2025, urging Indian students to choose only foreign medical schools that meet FMGL standards. Through this partnership, Indian students can pursue medical education abroad while ensuring they remain eligible to practice in India and other countries.

The new MBBS program mirrors the Indian MBBS system, featuring 54 months of academics and a 12-month paid clinical internship. Instruction will be in English, adhering to the NMC syllabus, and will include cadaveric dissections and clinical exposure at affiliated hospitals. Students will receive comprehensive training for both Indian and global licensing exams, such as FMGE/NExT, USMLE, UKMLA, MRCP, and MRCS, guided by Indian and international experts.

Dr. Tarun Gogineni, Director of GSL Institutions and Hospitals, stressed the importance of choosing FMGL-compliant institutions. Recognized by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Education and listed with WHO and ECFMG, Impuls provides a globally valid pathway. The 12-month internship offers $100 monthly. Previously, about 10,000 Indian students studied in Ukraine yearly, but that number has decreased. GSL follows India’s educational principles.
