Harish criticizes Congress for delaying DA increase and ignoring workers

Hyderabad: BRS leader T Harish Rao criticized the Congress government on Wednesday for ignoring state employees and not fulfilling promises.

During a press conference in Siddipet, Rao highlighted that while the Central Government approved a 3% DA increase for its employees, the Telangana government failed to offer similar benefits.

“In Telangana, five DAs are overdue. Revanth Reddy promised to clear two before elections, but now the number has grown to five, showing the government’s disregard for employees,” he stated.

Rao accused the Congress of focusing on contractor payments to gain commissions while neglecting government workers. He noted that under KCR, Telangana’s employees received higher salaries than central employees.

He noted BRS achievements, mentioning KCR approved a 42% PRC and an additional 31% hike, totaling 73%—a national record. He added that DAs were timely released even before the pandemic.

Rao criticized the Congress for not addressing arrears, restoring the old pension system, or announcing PRC within six months. “No other state has five DAs pending. Under Revanth Reddy, Telangana set this record. It’s been 22 months without clarity on PRC or DA. Employees expected news during Dasara but were disappointed,” he concluded.
