Telangana High Court Criticizes HYDRA for Unauthorized Demolitions

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court has strongly criticized HYDRA for demolishing buildings on holidays. The court questioned why the agency keeps ignoring its orders and warned of serious consequences if this continues.

Despite multiple instructions, HYDRA has not been following the proper process. The court had directed the agency to issue notices and allow time for responses before carrying out demolitions. However, HYDRA has allegedly ignored these rules. Frustrated by this, the court asked, “How many times do we have to repeat this? Why are you not listening?”

The judges also condemned the sudden demolitions, asking, “Can you change the face of the city overnight?” They warned that if HYDRA does not follow legal procedures, the court might even consider shutting it down. The court stressed that due process must be followed before taking any action.
