The Hyderabad City Police have successfully dismantled an interstate drug trafficking network with the arrest of two Nigerian nationals in Tolichowki. The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), in coordination with Tolichowki Police, conducted a joint operation based on credible intelligence and seized 150 grams of MDMA valued at approximately ₹20 lakh. A case has been registered as Cr. No.21/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act, 1985.

The primary accused, Chidi Ezeh, also known as Nageshwaran, is a 42-year-old Nigerian national who overstayed in India after his visa expired. Police records reveal that Ezeh has been involved in multiple NDPS cases previously and fraudulently obtained Indian identity documents including Aadhaar, PAN card, and a driving licence. He operated as an interstate drug supplier, procuring MDMA and cocaine from another Nigerian national based in Delhi and distributing them across major cities.

The second accused, Obasi James Victor, aged 38 years, entered India on a tourist visa but remained in the country illegally after its expiry. He was closely associated with Chidi Ezeh in drug trafficking activities and assisted in the distribution network. Police investigations revealed that both accused were part of an organized racket that supplied narcotics across multiple states.

During the operation, police seized several items from the accused including 150 grams of MDMA, a mobile phone, fraudulently obtained documents such as Aadhaar, PAN card, and driving licence, vehicle registration certificate, and bank cards. The seized contraband and evidence have been submitted for further investigation and legal proceedings.

The modus operandi of the drug racket involved Chidi Ezeh supplying MDMA and cocaine to drug peddlers across Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Delhi. He coordinated orders through WhatsApp and delivered drugs either personally or through Obasi James Victor. The drugs were procured from an absconding Nigerian supplier operating in Delhi, who remains at large and is being actively pursued by law enforcement agencies.

Following the arrest, Chidi Ezeh has been remanded in judicial custody in connection with the NDPS case. As no pending criminal cases exist against Obasi James Victor, authorities have initiated deportation proceedings through the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) and the Nigerian Embassy. The deportation process includes blacklisting and barring his re-entry into India to prevent future illegal activities.

The H-NEW has issued a public appeal urging citizens to avoid substance abuse and encouraging parents to closely monitor their children’s activities. The narcotics enforcement wing has requested the public to report any drug-related information to the H-NEW Helpline: 8712661601 to support efforts toward achieving a drug-free Hyderabad. Citizens can provide information anonymously to assist law enforcement in combating the drug menace in the city.
