The Hyderabad city police have issued a warning to residents, asking them to be careful about spreading false information on social media. This warning comes after a misleading message about a ‘free ride service’ for women during late-night hours went viral online.

The viral post claimed that women in Hyderabad could call helpline numbers 1091 and 7837018555 to request a free pickup and drop service by the city police if they were stranded or unable to find a cab between 10 pm and 6 am.

However, a fact check revealed that these helpline numbers actually belong to the Ludhiana police, not the Hyderabad police. In response, the Hyderabad police urged people to verify any social media posts before sharing them, as spreading incorrect information could lead to more confusion rather than helping others.
