Hyderabad: As the holy month of Ramzan approaches, the Hyderabad police have alerted residents about fake messages offering free ration. Scammers are taking advantage of the situation to steal personal information.

The government plans to provide 4.5 lakh gift packages during Ramzan. However, fraudulent messages are spreading on social media, claiming to offer a “Ramzan Relief Package.” These messages ask people to fill out forms to receive essential goods like flour, sugar, and rice for Muslim families.

Cyber officials urge people not to click on these links, as they can compromise phone security. If fraudsters access your device, they might steal your bank information or personal data for extortion.

Government-provided gift packages are distributed through official channels, such as masjid committees, not through social media. Stay cautious and delete any suspicious messages immediately.
