Hyderabad and parts of Telangana will experience heavy rain over the next two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning, urging residents to remain cautious.
For the 48-hour period, Hyderabad is expected to have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain on September 25 and 26. Rainfall will increase on September 27 and 28. According to the IMD, temperatures will range between 26°C and 28°C with high humidity. Rain may continue into the weekend but is predicted to lessen after September 29.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to be vigilant. District collectors must monitor areas prone to flooding and relocate people to relief camps if necessary.
Traffic police will halt vehicles on flooded roads, and causeways will be inspected for safety. The electricity department is tasked with quickly repairing downed wires to prevent accidents.
Rescue teams from GHMC, HYDRAA, NDRF, and SDRF are ready to assist in emergencies. Schools and colleges are being monitored for student safety, even during the Dasara holidays.
Residents are advised to stay indoors during heavy rain and only venture out if essential. With the Telangana heavy rainfall alert in effect, citizens are encouraged to be careful and adhere to safety guidelines.
