Heavy rains are currently affecting the Telugu states, including Hyderabad, due to the periodicity in the Northeast Bay of Bengal. The heavy rain has caused flooding in low-lying areas of the city, making it difficult for students, employees, and commuters to travel. Traffic on the roads has been severely disrupted.

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in many districts of Telangana for the next two to three days. An orange alert has been issued for 9 districts and a yellow alert for 18 districts in the state. Additionally, rivers in Adilabad and Bhupalapalli districts are overflowing due to continuous heavy rain since last night.
