TG SAFE has suspended the FSSAI licences of four quick-commerce dark stores in Hyderabad after inspections found food safety violations. The outlets were ordered to stop operations immediately.
Ten enforcement teams inspected 16 dark stores across Hyderabad’s Core Urban Region, or CURE. Officials reported cockroach and pest infestations, spoiled and fungus-contaminated vegetables, and expired or damaged food items.
Inspectors also found dusty and rusted racks, cobwebs, poor food storage and handling, and inadequate monitoring of cold-room temperatures. Officials noted labelling violations as well.
The four outlets directed to stop operations are Kwickbox Retail (Swiggy Instamart) in Pet Basheerabad, Instakart Services (Flipkart) in Pathar Gatti, Charminar, Zepto in Ram Koti, and Kwickbox Retail (Swiggy Instamart) in Saidabad.
TG SAFE collected 15 food samples over suspected adulteration. Officials said improvement notices will be issued to three outlets, while five others will receive show-cause notices and may face further action, including penalties. The four named establishments were directed to stop operations immediately in the interest of public health.
