A 68-year-old woman from Hyderabad has made a remarkable recovery after surviving multiple episodes of cardiac arrest. She was initially treated at a private hospital, where she collapsed and was revived. Later, she was transferred to Care Hospitals in Banjara Hills for specialized treatment.

When the woman arrived at Care Hospitals, her condition was critical. Her heart was functioning at only 25% of its normal capacity, and she was experiencing dangerous heart rhythm disorders known as ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF). These conditions can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.

Doctors explained that issues like VT and VF can be caused by factors such as viral infections affecting the heart (myocarditis) or complications from diabetes. To stabilize her, the medical team used advanced treatments, including an intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) to support her heart and a ventilator to assist her breathing.

Despite these efforts, her heart rhythm continued to be unstable. However, an angiography showed no major blockages in her coronary arteries. To address the irregular heartbeats, the doctors performed a stellate ganglion block, which helped bring her condition under control.

After two weeks of intensive care, the woman recovered and was discharged from the hospital in stable health. Her story is a testament to the expertise and dedication of the medical team at Care Hospitals.
