The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA) has successfully secured 12.17 acres of government land in Gandhaguda village, Gandipet Mandal, Ranga Reddy District on Friday by erecting protective fencing around the property.

The protected land, identified under Survey No. 43, is valued at approximately ₹1200 crores. The government owns a total of 26 acres under this survey number, of which specific portions had been previously allocated for public use.

Out of the total land parcel, the government had earlier allocated one acre for an electricity sub-station and another 9 acres for GHMC to operate as a dump yard. Despite these official allocations, the remaining government land was reportedly facing gradual encroachment.

HYDRA received multiple complaints through its helpline from local residents alerting authorities about unauthorized occupation of the land. Acting on these complaints, HYDRA Commissioner Sri AV Ranganath issued orders for immediate action.

Following the Commissioner’s directives, departmental officials conducted a thorough field inspection of the property. After verifying the land records and confirming its status as government property, the team proceeded with the protection measures.

The fencing operation was carried out on Friday under the supervision of relevant officials. A temple and a mosque that were already constructed on the site were carefully safeguarded during the fencing process. The protective barrier was erected around these religious structures while securing the remaining government land.

HYDRA installed official boards around the fenced area clearly marking the property as government land. This measure aims to prevent future encroachment attempts and establish clear boundaries of public property.

The action is part of HYDRA’s ongoing efforts to protect government assets and respond to public complaints regarding unauthorized land occupation across the district. The agency has been actively working to identify and secure government properties that face encroachment threats.

The protected land in Gandhaguda village represents a significant public asset, and the fencing operation ensures its preservation for potential future government projects or public use as determined by authorities.
