Heavy rainfall lashed Hyderabad on Tuesday evening, causing widespread flooding on city roads and disrupting normal life. The downpour, which continued from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM, led to waterlogging in several areas and resulted in tree branches breaking and falling across various localities. Despite the challenging weather conditions, HYDRA DRF (Disaster Response Force) and MRT (Mobile Response Team) personnel remained on high alert and conducted relief operations throughout the affected areas to minimize inconvenience to residents.
The emergency response teams worked swiftly to remove accumulated floodwater from roads and clear fallen trees and branches that obstructed traffic flow. In Krishna Nagar, HYDRA teams took immediate steps to ensure smooth drainage of floodwater from internal roads and assisted numerous residents in safely crossing waterlogged streets. The teams coordinated with traffic personnel in multiple areas to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and prevent traffic congestion during the peak hours of rainfall.
In a notable rescue operation, HYDRA personnel in Kakatiya Nagar, Neredumet area of Secunderabad, successfully rescued a cow that had fallen into a canal. The animal was safely pulled out using ropes by the emergency response team. Additionally, in the Red Hills area, fallen trees were promptly identified and removed to clear the roadways. The swift action by the teams prevented potential accidents and ensured public safety during the heavy rain.
By 10:30 PM, HYDRA teams had completed comprehensive measures across the city to ensure that water did not stagnate on any major roads. The emergency response personnel remained stationed at strategic locations throughout the evening to provide immediate assistance wherever required. The coordinated efforts between HYDRA DRF, MRT teams, and traffic personnel helped restore normalcy to the city despite the intense spell of rainfall that affected multiple neighborhoods across Hyderabad.
