The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has successfully removed illegal encroachments in Miyapur, recovering approximately 5 acres of government land valued at over ₹600 crore.

The operation targeted multiple unauthorized structures that had been illegally occupying prime government property in the area. Officials dismantled illegal shops, cleared private bus parking facilities, and removed car wash units that had been operating without proper authorization.

According to authorities, encroachers had used fake survey numbers to grab the valuable land and had been earning lakhs of rupees monthly through rental income from these illegal establishments. The sophisticated land grabbing operation involved forged documents to create an appearance of legitimacy.

The recovered land includes portions that fall within the lake buffer zone, which is protected under environmental regulations. Encroachments in such zones pose serious risks to the ecological balance and water bodies in the region.

Following the demolition drive, HYDRAA has erected fencing around the cleared area to prevent future encroachments. The protective barrier has been installed to secure both the government land and the lake buffer zone from illegal occupation.

The Miyapur area has witnessed rapid urbanization in recent years, making government land increasingly vulnerable to illegal occupation. The high real estate values in the locality have attracted land grabbers who exploit gaps in monitoring and enforcement.

This operation is part of HYDRAA’s ongoing efforts to protect government assets and reclaim public land from illegal occupants across Hyderabad. The agency has been conducting similar drives in various parts of the city to restore encroached properties.

The removal of these encroachments is expected to help preserve the ecological integrity of the nearby water body while ensuring that valuable government land is protected from unauthorized use. The action also sends a strong message against the use of fraudulent documents for land grabbing.

Local authorities have indicated that the reclaimed land will be properly secured and monitored to prevent any attempts at re-encroachment. The fencing installed around the property will serve as a physical deterrent to future illegal occupation attempts.
