Telangana has announced major changes in its police leadership across the state. The government moved dozens of IPS officers to new positions to boost security operations and improve how law enforcement works.
The changes affect police departments in Hyderabad and other districts throughout Telangana. Officers received new assignments in specialized units and regular police zones.
Devendra Singh Chauhan from the 1997 IPS batch now serves as Additional Director General of Police for Personnel at the main police headquarters in Hyderabad. He keeps his extra duties overseeing Multizone-II operations.
Parimala Hana Nutan Jacob, an IPS officer from 2009, moved from her role managing administration for Hyderabad City Police to become Deputy Inspector General at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Several key positions changed hands in the capital city. Chetana Mylabathula left her post leading the Women Safety Wing to join the RBVRR TGPA training academy as Deputy Director. Srinivasulu, who previously worked with the CID, now handles crime investigations as Additional Commissioner in Hyderabad.
Tafseer Iqbal moved up from supervising the Charminar Zone to become Joint Commissioner for law and order across Hyderabad City. Sneha Mehra, who managed the South Zone, received a promotion to Superintendent of Police in Vikarabad district.
The government also reshuffled officers in areas outside the capital. Narayana Reddy from the 2013 batch now works as Deputy Commissioner in the Maheshwaram Zone under Rachakonda police.
PV Padmaja switched from her Malkajgiri posting to lead administrative work at the Telangana Anti-Narcotics Bureau. Patil Sangramsingh Ganapatrao left the CID to become district police chief in Nagarkurnool.
Khare Kiran Prabhakar moved from Jayashankar Bhupalapally district back to Hyderabad to take over the South Zone from Sneha Mehra. Chennuri Rupesh joined the SM&IT department as Deputy Commissioner after working with the anti-drug unit.
The changes reached smaller districts too. Shabarish P transferred from Mulugu to Mahabubabad as the new district police head. Nitika Pant received her assignment in Komurambheem Asifabad district.
R. Giridhar left Wanaparty District to join the Anti-Narcotics Bureau as Superintendent. Gaikwad Vaibhav Raghunath from the 2018 batch now leads the Task Force unit in Hyderabad City.
Several junior officers also got new roles. Kekan Sudhir Ramnath became the new police chief in Mulugu district. Sirisetti Sankeerth moved from serving as assistant to the Governor to leading police operations in Jayashankar Bhupalapally.
Patil Kantilal Subhash received the important assignment as new ADC to the Governor. B Ram Reddy shifted from CID work to become Deputy Commissioner in Peddapally under Ramagundam division.
Ch. Sridhar left his intelligence work in Hyderabad to manage Malkajgiri operations under Rachakonda. The government promoted several Sub-Divisional Police Officers to higher positions across different districts.
Avinash Kumar from Bhainsa moved to B. Kothagudem as Additional Superintendent for operations. Kajal received a promotion while staying in Adilabad district. Kankanala Rahul Reddy got elevated to senior rank in Bhongir.
The newest IPS officers from recent batches also received important assignments. Manan Bhat moved from the elite Greyhounds unit to field operations. Pathipaka Saikiran and Ruthiwk Sai Kotte left Greyhounds for regular district duties.
Yadav Vasundhara Faurebi became Assistant Commissioner in Khammam district after serving with Greyhounds. The government filled several vacant positions with these transfers.
Sreenivas took charge of TG TRANSCO security operations. D. Sunitha became the new district police chief in Wanaparthy. K Gunasekhar joined the Rachakonda division to handle crime investigations.
These widespread changes aim to bring fresh leadership to different areas and strengthen police operations across Telangana. The government expects better coordination between units and improved public safety with these new appointments.
