    The Odisha government has asked for help from the Indian ambassador in Saudi Arabia to rescue stranded Odia workers in the country. Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena wrote a letter to Suhel Azaj Khan, the ambassador of India in Riyadh, after receiving distress calls from the workers who were cheated by their employers. A copy of the letter was also sent to the Joint Secretary (Gulf Division), Ministry of External Affairs. Out of the stranded workers, 33 are from Odisha, while 10 are from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The workers, employed by M/s Hadi Al Hammam Group in Saudi Arabia, have not received their salary and lack basic amenities like food, water, and medicine. The Chief Secretary attached a list of the 33 workers from Odisha and requested their rescue and repatriation.
