Investigation initiated by Telangana government and L&T

The Telangana government and L&T are investigating an incident where some pillars of the Medigadda barrage sank, posing a threat to the structure. To assess the cause of the damage, a team of technical experts from L&T and state authorities are visiting the project site. Once the damage is assessed, L&T will take necessary action to fix it. Last year, the barrage successfully withstood unprecedented floods. The reservoir is currently being emptied, which may take two days. The Dam Security Organisation of the Central Government will also assess the situation and suggest measures to rectify it. As a result, the police have closed the barrage for traffic and advised commuters to take alternative routes.
