The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU-H) will give an honorary doctorate to Dr Sridhar Panikere Somnath, the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Dr Sridhar will be the chief guest at the university’s 11th convocation, with Governor and university chancellor Dr Tamilsai Soundrarajan presiding. JNTU-H has opened two engineering colleges in Paleru and Mahabubabad and has signed agreements with technical universities in the US, allowing students to study at JNTU-H for three years and complete the remaining two years abroad. The university is also focusing on launching new courses and constructing buildings to meet infrastructure needs. The alumni association has provided financial support, and a building for the alumni is being planned. JNTU-H has been granted permission to organize the 109th National Science Congress. The university has achieved notable success in various fields.
