Jagan claims Naidu's "Cash for Vote" scandal led to AP losing Hyderabad as joint capital

Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy blamed TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for Andhra Pradesh losing its rights over Hyderabad as a joint capital. Jagan claimed this was due to Naidu’s involvement in a cash-for-vote scandal.

Jagan spoke at a meeting in Anakapalli district, explaining that Hyderabad was supposed to be the joint capital for both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for ten years after the state’s division. He alleged that Naidu’s actions in the cash-for-vote case led to Andhra Pradesh losing its rights over the joint capital prematurely.

He warned that voting for TDP could result in the discontinuation of welfare schemes in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan criticized Naidu for failing to secure Special Category Status and other promises made during the state’s bifurcation.

Jagan highlighted Naidu’s failure to develop a capital city as promised, stating that if YSR Congress Party wins again, Visakhapatnam will become the new capital. He also accused Naidu of deceiving the public with schemes like Mahalakshmi, promising that all current schemes would continue under his leadership.
