Actress and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Juhi Chawla, was seen in tears after Rinku Singh’s heroics during the GT vs KKR match in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Rinku hit five consecutive sixes against Yash Dayal in the final over, taking the Knights over the line by three wickets with 29 runs needed off six balls. Following the win, Rinku’s teammates celebrated, but it was Juhi’s emotional expression that stole the show. She was seen in tears after Rinku’s brilliant knock of 48* off 21 balls.
The Knights moved to the second position in the points table with two wins in three games after their victory against GT. The Rajasthan Royals are at the top spot due to a healthier net run rate. Rinku, who was unbeaten on 48, attributed his miraculous knock to immense self-belief. He said that he had the belief that he could do it and Nitish Rana had told him to keep the belief and bat till the end.
In the post-match presentation ceremony, Rinku said that he was just trying to hit sixes and Umesh Yadav was asking him not to think much and just play the ball. He added that he was not thinking a lot, was just reacting to the ball, and it kept coming out of the middle. He had belief, and it came off in the end.
