    The Telangana Junior Doctors’ Association (TJUDA) has decided to postpone their strike after receiving assurance from officials about a green channel for payment of stipend. The junior doctors will wait for a week as higher officials have promised to hold talks next week.

    According to JUDA president Dr. Ch G Sai Sri Harsha, officials have sent a proposal from the Health department to the Finance department regarding budget relaxation for stipends of PGs and honorarium of SRs. They were assured that the government would monitor the disbursement of stipends regularly, with payments released along with salaries by the tenth of every month.

    Dr. Harsha also mentioned that a letter was forwarded to the Finance ministry for continuation of 1.251 for super-speciality senior residents honorarium. They are hopeful for a positive outcome in the coming days. Additionally, regarding 15% reservation for AP students, communication was made to the KNRUHS V-C to not allow AP students from taking unreserved seats increased after June 2, 2014.

    In terms of security issues at medical colleges, a list of college-hospitals with outpost status and the number of constables present was submitted to the DME for further action. A positive step in this regard is expected soon. As for the new building for OGH, there were concerns about a court order against the government due to heritage protection issues. The identification of a new location is in progress, with discussions planned for the next meeting to make a decision on continuing the strike.
