Kavitha's judicial remand in Delhi Liquor Scam extended until April 23

The Delhi liquor policy case took a new turn as MLC Kavitha’s judicial remand was extended until April 23 after court proceedings on Tuesday. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials brought Kavitha before the Rouse Avenue court in Delhi, where the decision was made to extend her custody.

Kavita’s lawyer argued in court against the extension of judicial custody, questioning the lack of new grounds for such a decision and expressing confusion over the ED’s request for extension. The lawyer also requested permission for Kavitha to speak directly to the court, but the bench denied this request and advised that an application be submitted instead.

Despite not being allowed to address the court directly, Kavitha was granted permission to meet with her husband Anil and uncle Ramakishan Rao in the court. During the meeting, Kavitha maintained her innocence and stated that she believes a false case has been filed against her. She also mentioned being questioned by CBI officials while in Tihar Jail.
