The Chief Minister of Telangana, K Chandrasekhar Rao, has announced the resumption of the Mana Nagaram programme in the state soon. The announcement was made during a meeting with the state’s Municipal Administration and Urban Development department officials.

The Mana Nagaram programme was launched by the Telangana government in 2015 with the aim of transforming urban areas in the state into clean and green cities. The programme focuses on improving basic amenities such as water supply, sanitation, and waste management, as well as beautification of public spaces.

The programme was initially implemented in 72 municipalities across the state and was later extended to cover all urban local bodies. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the programme had to be put on hold in 2020.

Now, with the situation improving and restrictions being lifted, the Chief Minister has directed officials to resume the programme as soon as possible. The government has allocated Rs 1,000 crore for the programme in the current financial year.

Under the Mana Nagaram programme, the government aims to provide basic amenities such as drinking water supply, underground drainage system, and solid waste management to all urban areas in the state. The government is also focusing on creating green spaces and parks in urban areas to improve the quality of life of citizens.

Apart from infrastructure development, the programme also focuses on citizen participation and community involvement. The government has encouraged citizens to actively participate in the programme by providing feedback on the progress of work and suggesting improvements.

The resumption of the Mana Nagaram programme is expected to create employment opportunities for local people and boost economic activity in urban areas. It is also expected to improve the standard of living of citizens by providing basic amenities and a clean environment.

In conclusion, the resumption of the Mana Nagaram programme is a positive step towards transforming urban areas in Telangana into clean and green cities. The programme’s focus on citizen participation and community involvement is commendable and will go a long way in ensuring the success of the programme. With the government’s commitment and allocation of funds, it is hoped that the programme will achieve its objectives and improve the quality of life of citizens in urban areas.
