KTR Criticizes BJP for Granting Gujarat a Coach Factory Worth Rs 20K Cr While Denying Telangana the Same Opportunity

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president and Minister for IT and Industries, KT Rama Rao (KTR), has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for granting Gujarat a coach factory worth Rs 20,000 crore while denying Telangana the same opportunity. KTR has argued that such a move is discriminatory and goes against the principles of federalism.

According to KTR, the BJP-led central government has been neglecting Telangana’s interests and has been favoring other states. He has pointed out that while Gujarat has been given a coach factory, Telangana has been denied the same opportunity despite having a significant demand for coaches. KTR has also accused the central government of being biased towards Gujarat and other states ruled by the BJP.

The coach factory in question is expected to be built in Becharaji, Gujarat, and will produce around 500 coaches per year. The project is expected to generate employment opportunities for around 20,000 people. The factory will be built by Bombardier Transportation India Private Limited in collaboration with the Gujarat government.

KTR has argued that Telangana also needs a coach factory to meet its growing demand for coaches. The state government has been planning to set up a coach factory in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, but the project has not yet received approval from the central government. KTR has urged the central government to grant Telangana the same opportunity as Gujarat and allow the state to set up a coach factory.

The issue of discrimination against Telangana is not new. The state has been demanding a separate High Court since its formation in 2014, but the central government has been delaying the process. Similarly, Telangana has been demanding a share in the Krishna river water, but the neighboring state of Andhra Pradesh has been opposing the move. KTR has accused the central government of ignoring Telangana’s demands and has urged it to take a more balanced approach.

In conclusion, KTR’s criticism of the BJP for granting Gujarat a coach factory worth Rs 20K cr while denying Telangana the same opportunity highlights the need for a more balanced approach towards states. The central government should not discriminate against any state and should grant them equal opportunities to develop. It is imperative that the principles of federalism are upheld and all states are treated fairly.
