BRS Ready for Discussion on Electoral Bonds: KTR

The working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), KT Rama Rao (KTR), announced on Monday that the party is open to discussing the use of electoral bonds for funding political parties across the country. His remarks came during an informal interaction with reporters at Telangana Bhavan.

Responding to allegations by the Congress party, KTR clarified that the claims of a racing company paying the BRS crores of rupees were untrue. He explained that Greenko, a company involved in the controversy, had issued electoral bonds to the BRS in 2022. The Formula E Race, which Congress referred to, was held in 2023, making the timeline of the allegations questionable. KTR also highlighted that Greenko had provided electoral bonds to other parties, including Congress and the BJP.

Addressing further concerns, KTR stated that Greenko incurred losses due to the Formula E Race. He emphasized that electoral bonds, which were legally approved by Parliament, cannot be labeled as corruption. Challenging critics, KTR invited all political parties to engage in a debate on the issue of electoral bonds to ensure transparency in political funding.
