Dr. K Laxman, a member of the BJP Parliamentary Board and MP, criticized Chief Minister K Chandraskekar Rao for unveiling the statue of Dr. BR Ambedkar. He said that the Chief Minister has no moral right to do so because he has not paid homage to Dr. Ambedkar on his birth and death anniversaries for the past eight years. Dr. Laxman believes that the Chief Minister only unveiled the statue during the election year to woo dalits for votes. He urged people and dalits to think about the Chief Minister’s actions.

Dr. Laxman also reminded people that the Chief Minister promised to make a dalit the first CM of the State and to distribute three acres of farm land to them. He also promised to fill the SC and ST backlog posts, but no funds were released to the SC Corporation even though statutory backing was provided to the SC and ST sub-plan. Additionally, the government has not yet provided land for the Atma Gaurava Bhavans of Malas and Madiga communities in Hyderabad.
