Hyderabad: Prominent leaders, including CPI leader Narayana and other Left leaders, gathered at Gun Park to pay tribute to civil rights activist Professor Sai Baba. The event was held at the martyrs’ memorial, where many people came to honor Sai Baba’s contributions to social justice and change.

A large number of Sai Baba’s supporters assembled, chanting slogans like “Comrade Sai Baba Amar Rahe, Lal Salaam” and “Inquilab Zindabad.” Although Sai Baba’s family and supporters requested a brief five-minute condolence meeting at Gun Park, the police denied permission. The activist’s body, kept in an ambulance, was not allowed to remain at the site, leading to a tense exchange between the supporters and the police. Eventually, the body was taken to Sai Baba’s residence in Moulali.

CPI leader Narayana spoke to the media, praising Sai Baba as a true intellectual who deeply understood society. He expressed sadness over Sai Baba’s imprisonment, stating that the activist had been unjustly detained for ten years. Narayana promised to write to the Supreme Court to investigate the circumstances surrounding Sai Baba’s imprisonment and death. He claimed that Sai Baba’s death was not natural but a result of “government action.” Despite his passing, Narayana emphasized that Sai Baba’s values would continue to inspire many.
