Officials from the Civil Supply Department confirmed on Tuesday that the supply of LPG cooking gas for both homes and businesses in Telangana is steady. Commissioner Stephen Raveendra assured that strict measures will be taken against cylinder hoarding or black marketing.
Every day, 2.3 lakh cylinders are delivered by Oil Marketing Companies. The public is advised not to worry. Despite conflicts in West Asia, the situation remains stable and under control.
Although Telangana is not facing issues, a committee has been set up by the Centre to address supply challenges after a sudden shortage of commercial cylinders impacted the hospitality sector. Restaurant groups have warned of possible closures if supplies do not improve. The global LPG supply chain has been affected by the conflict in West Asia, so the government has prioritized household LPG supply.
This priority has caused a shortage for hotels and restaurants that rely on commercial LPG. Stephen Raveendra assured residents that the situation is being closely monitored to prevent any interruptions within the state during this uncertain global period.
