Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman of the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), has strongly condemned the demolition of Masjid-e-Moulana by Revenue Authorities on Nizampur Road, Sadasivpet, in Sangareddy District, Telangana. He termed the action as shocking, illegal and a direct assault on the religious sentiments of Muslims across the state.

The demolition was carried out during the holy month of Ramzan, when the entire Muslim community is engaged in fasting, prayers, and spiritual devotion. Mr. Khan expressed deep anguish over the timing of the demolition, stating that it has deeply hurt the sentiments of Muslims and reflects insensitivity towards religious feelings during this sacred period.

The MBT spokesman demanded the immediate suspension of the RDO Sangareddy and MRO Sadasivpet and called for criminal cases to be registered against the concerned officials. He questioned how the authorities could proceed with the demolition of a place of worship without issuing any prior notice to the concerned management or the community, which he claimed violated due legal procedure.

Mr. Khan criticized the silence of several key Muslim leaders in the state government, including Sri Azher Uddin, Minister for Minorities Welfare, Government of Telangana; Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Advisor to the Chief Minister on Minorities Affairs; and Azmath Ullah Hussaini, Chairman of Telangana WAKF Board. He stated that their silence at such a sensitive time raises serious concerns about their commitment to protecting minority rights.

The MBT leader stated that Chief Minister Sri Anumula Revanth Reddy appears to be in an overconfident mood following the Congress party’s victories in Panchayat and Municipal Elections. He reminded that even former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao was once overconfident and during his nine-year rule nine Masjids were demolished, but eventually he lost power when Muslims withdrew their support.

Mr. Khan further pointed out that this is the second Masjid demolition since Revanth Reddy assumed office as Chief Minister of Telangana. He highlighted that Masjid-e-Jagirdar in Moinabad, which was earlier demolished, has not been reconstructed till date, raising questions about the government’s intentions.

The spokesman demanded immediate reconstruction of Masjid-e-Moulana at the same site and justice for the community. He warned that repeated actions against religious structures will only erode the trust of minorities in the state government and could have political consequences for the ruling party.

Mr. Khan has tagged several political leaders and officials including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and various Telangana government authorities in his statement, seeking their intervention in the matter and demanding accountability from the revenue officials responsible for the demolition.
