Nalgonda: Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy called the fine rice scheme a historic step that brings dignity to the poor. The scheme was launched by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Ugadi. On the same day, Minister Venkat Reddy started the program in G Yedavalli village, Nalgonda district. He also laid the foundation stone for development works worth Rs 4.63 crore.

The minister criticized the previous government, saying it failed to issue ration cards for 10 years. In contrast, the current government has added 20 lakh new beneficiaries and plans to provide fine rice to 3.1 crore people. He also mentioned the revival of the Indiramma housing scheme, which gives Rs 5 lakh for constructing houses.

Other welfare measures include free bus travel, farmer insurance, and LPG gas connections. The government has set aside Rs 4,000 crore for free transport and Rs 4,518 crore for repairing the SLBC tunnel. Also, Rs 80 crore has been approved for road development in Kanagal.

The Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme helps unemployed youth by offering self-employment loans up to Rs 4 lakh. Around 50,000 government jobs have been filled, and improvements are being made in hospitals and schools. Farmers have been encouraged to grow fine rice, with a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal being offered.

During a visit to Yadagirigutta in Yadadri Bhongir district, Minister Venkat Reddy said the current government is focused on development, unlike the previous one. He praised Illaiah for ensuring water supply to Aler and announced that the Gandhamalla Project would begin soon.

The state cabinet has approved several development projects, including a Rs 50 crore bridge over the Musi River and Rs 7.5 crore for new buildings in Motakondur. The minister accused the previous government of ignoring the poor while benefiting only the ruling family.

He said that under the new administration, 20 lakh ration cards have been issued and the fine rice scheme has been launched to support the poor. Infrastructure projects like roads, water pipelines, reservoirs, and a new Gurukul school are also in progress. Minister Reddy urged officials to ensure there is no corruption in the implementation of these schemes, saying this is a “people’s government,” not a ruler’s regime.
