Minister Supports Cheriyal Revenue Division Demand in Assembly

BRS legislator Palla Rajeshwar Reddy highlighted the challenges faced by people in Cheriyal mandal. He urged the government to consider making it a revenue division, pointing out how farmers and residents had to visit multiple offices in different locations to complete their work.

In response, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy stated in a written reply that the government had not given any promise to create a revenue division for Cheriyal. However, Venkat Reddy intervened, calling the demand “justifiable” and urging the government to accept such genuine requests.

Venkat Reddy further elaborated on the difficulties faced by the people of Cheriyal. He explained that they have to travel to Husnabad for the ACP office, Gajwel for agricultural work, and Siddipet to meet the district collector. He also reminded the Assembly that Cheriyal had been an Assembly constituency in the past.

The minister criticized the previous government, stating, “There was no revenue minister during their tenure. We don’t even know if there was a functioning government then.” Venkat Reddy shared that he had participated in a hunger strike in the past for the creation of revenue divisions and emphasized that such justified demands should be considered.

Responding to the concerns raised, Revenue Minister Srinivas Reddy assured the House that the government would discuss the matter in the Cabinet and take a feasible decision.
