Wanaparthy: Local MLA Thudi Megha Reddy assured farmers that every grain of rice they produce will be purchased. He also announced that farmers who grow thin varieties of rice will receive an extra payment of 500 rupees per quintal. He encouraged farmers not to lose hope.
On Saturday, the MLA inaugurated a new rice procurement center at the Wanaparthy Agricultural Market Yard. This center was set up with the help of MEPMA, cooperative societies, and women’s groups.
During the event, the MLA highlighted that 241 rice procurement centers are being established in Wanaparthy district. These include 151 centers run by women’s groups, 117 by cooperative societies, and 2 by MEPMA. He assured that all necessary arrangements have been made by the district administration.
The MLA also asked officials to ensure that farmers bringing their rice to the centers have a smooth experience. He emphasized the importance of providing enough gunny bags and plastic covers to make sure the purchase process follows government rules without any problems.
