MLC Teenmar Mallanna has strongly reacted to the show-cause notices issued to him. He questioned whether speaking in support of the Backward Classes (BCs) should lead to such action.

In an interview with TV9, Mallanna criticized the move, stating that some leaders were trying to suppress BC voices and push them away from the party. He expressed concern that certain political figures were not allowing BCs to have a strong presence.

Mallanna also commented on Congress’s position, saying, “The party is clear, but the government is not.” He doubted the reliability of the caste census report and argued that those involved in the enumeration process should be the ones receiving show-cause notices.

He further alleged that a few leaders were working against the interests of BCs and trying to silence them. Regarding the notice he received, Mallanna stated that he would take time until February 12 to respond after consulting with the BC community.
