Warangal: Congress party members, led by Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, held a protest in Hanumakonda on Thursday. They were angry about a chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against their leaders, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, in the National Herald case.
During the protest, Naini accused the Modi government of using central agencies like the ED, CBI, and Income Tax Department to target opposition leaders. He said the BJP government was misusing these agencies to silence its critics. Naini also demanded that the chargesheet be withdrawn, claiming that Sonia and Rahul Gandhi had no connection to the National Herald case.
He further stated that the BJP was going after the Gandhi family because its popularity was going down. Naini said that Rahul Gandhi is a strong leader and would make a comeback.
Before the speeches, Congress supporters burned an effigy of the BJP government as a sign of protest. Congress leaders including MP K Kavya, PCC members B Srinivas Rao, EV Srinivas Rao, Boddireddy Prabhakar Reddy, and many others took part in the demonstration.
