Hyderabad: The monsoon season is gaining momentum. Due to the delay in the arrival of the southwest monsoon winds, the state has not received significant rainfall as expected. The southwest monsoon season, which usually starts on June 1st and lasts until September, has been sluggish this year. After a gap of three weeks, the monsoon finally entered the state, bringing lazy showers. Currently, the state is experiencing normal rainfall of 24.44 cm, as recorded by the meteorological department. However, the Environment Department has made it clear that the current monsoon showers are higher than usual due to the delayed onset of the southwest monsoon winds. In July, the Environment Department released forecasts for nationwide rainfall. According to these forecasts, the state is expected to receive 10% more rainfall than usual.

Heavy rains for four days…

Cyclone Bay of Bengal and its surrounding regions have caused heavy downpours. As a result, heavy rains, including record-breaking rainfall in some places, have been recorded across the state for four consecutive days. From June 4th to June 6th, there is a possibility of widespread rainfall across the state, according to the Environment Department.
