    More than 541,000 voters removed from electoral rolls in Hyderabad

    The Hyderabad district election officer, Ronald Rose, announced that 541,201 voters have been removed from the electoral rolls in order to maintain their accuracy following Election Commission guidelines. This effort is being made to ensure that the upcoming elections are conducted in a fair and transparent manner.

    These deleted voters include those who are deceased, have moved to a different location, or were found to have duplicate entries in the 15 Assembly segments of the district. Since January 2023, a total of 47,141 deceased voters, 439,801 relocated voters, and 54,259 duplicate voters have been removed from the rolls. All of these deletions were carried out in accordance with the procedures outlined by the Election Commission.

    In addition to this, efforts have been made to correct non-standard house numbers for certain voters during the roll purification process. A total of 181,405 voters with non-standard house numbers have been identified and their information has been updated accordingly. Furthermore, measures have been taken to consolidate split voters within a family into a single polling station, with 378,713 corrections made district-wide.

    As part of voter awareness campaigns and registration drives, 5,01,604 new voters have been added to the electoral rolls in Hyderabad since January 2023. Ronald Rose commended the efforts of various election officials and field workers in ensuring the accuracy and purity of the electoral rolls for the upcoming elections.

    Overall, the election authorities are working diligently to eliminate duplicate, deceased, and relocated voters from the rolls while also taking steps to improve voter turnout and accessibility for all eligible individuals. Their goal is to conduct free and fair elections with integrity and transparency.
