The Nagarjunasagar reservoir has reached full capacity, leading to the opening of the project’s crest gates. Ten gates are now open to release water downstream, equal to the inflow of 133,824 cusecs.
Out of the released water, 9,500 cusecs go to the right canal, 8,454 cusecs to the left canal, and 32,480 cusecs pass through the power canal. The water level, initially at the full mark of 590 feet, is now at 589.70 feet.
The reservoir can hold up to 312.04 TMC, and the current storage is at 311.14 TMC. The management is keeping a close watch on the situation as the water levels change.
