Manne Krishank, the social media convenor of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), received a major relief on Friday when the Nampally court rejected the police request for his remand in connection with a social media post case. The court’s decision came after considering the guidelines established by the Supreme Court in such matters. Senior advocate and Telangana State Bar Council member Kiran Kumar Gannamaneni represented Krishank during the proceedings and successfully opposed the police plea for remand.
Police arrested Krishank early Friday morning after a contingent reached his residence in Hyderabad. The officials took him into custody and transported him to the Central Crime Station for questioning. The arrest was linked to a case involving a social media post related to recent developments surrounding a BRS protest and an alleged incident involving the staff of BRS working president K T Rama Rao.
This was not the first time Krishank faced police questioning in this matter. Authorities had previously summoned and questioned him before releasing him on September 17. The case revolves around allegations concerning social media content that reportedly dealt with incidents during a Bharat Rashtra Samithi demonstration and claims of an attempted attack on KTR’s staff members.
The Nampally court’s decision to reject the remand request marks a significant development in the case. The court cited Supreme Court guidelines as the basis for its decision, indicating that the circumstances did not warrant keeping Krishank in police custody. The legal representation provided by advocate Gannamaneni played a crucial role in securing this outcome for the BRS social media convenor.
