Delhi government schools and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) schools held a joint event called Mega PTM to encourage parents to get more involved in their children’s learning and suggest ways to improve the schools. The Education Minister Atishi Singh and Deputy Mayor Aaley Mohammed Iqbal met with parents at SKV Phase-1 pocket 4 Mayur Vihar and MCD School Block 22 Trilokpuri to learn about their experiences. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that they will work together to improve MCD schools just like they did with government schools. The meeting took place in over 1,000 government schools and over 1,500 MCD schools in Delhi.

According to Atishi, when the Kejriwal administration was formed in 2015, Delhi government schools had the same problems as MCD institutions. After years of hard work and dedication, the old education system was improved. Atishi expressed her happiness at the high turnout of parents, saying that it showed how much they care about their children’s education. She also said that this opportunity for involvement will now be provided to parents in MCD schools as well. The Mega PTM focused on Mission Buniyaad and the importance of developing foundation skills.
