Hyderabad: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) will hold a special public hearing in Hyderabad on July 28 and 29. The focus is on 109 human rights complaints from Telangana. NHRC Chairperson Justice V. Ramasubramanian will lead the session, joined by Justice (Dr) Vidyut Ranjan Sarangi and Vijaya Bharathi Sayani. The hearings will take place at the Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Centre in Jubilee Hills, starting at 10 AM each day. Complainants and state officials are expected to attend.
An NHRC announcement on Sunday confirmed that Principal Secretary Bharat Lal, Director General of Investigation R. P. Meena, and Registrar for Law Joginder Singh will be there, along with other senior officials.
The cases involve various issues, such as police misconduct, lack of access to government welfare programs, prison system flaws, neglect in protecting Scheduled Castes and Tribes, student rights in schools, health issues for pregnant and nursing mothers, and trafficking concerns.
