Hyderabad: The North Zone police recently held a meeting with officials from several departments to discuss important issues concerning street dwellers and homeless individuals. The meeting included representatives from the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Secunderabad Cantonment Board, Medical and Health Department, Women and Child Welfare Department, Labour Department, and various NGOs.

S Rashmi Perumal, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) for the North Zone, highlighted two main concerns during the meeting. The first was providing immediate shelter for people living on the streets. The second was ensuring the respectful and dignified handling of deceased individuals, especially with the increasing number of unidentified bodies being found each day.
