The Thalassemia Sickle Cell Society (TSCS) held a large blood donation camp at Kings Palace in Hyderabad on Monday. The event attracted 1,955 donors and aimed to help people suffering from Thalassemia, a condition that requires regular blood transfusions.

Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi supported the initiative, while TSCS joint secretary M.A. Aleem Baig and the society’s staff played an important role in organizing the camp. The collected blood will be used for Thalassemia patients, who need transfusions every 15 days to manage their condition.

TSCS also highlighted the importance of prevention and urged Mr. Owaisi to push for a Government Order requiring the antenatal HbA2 test for all pregnant women. This test helps identify carriers of Thalassemia and can prevent the birth of affected children.
