Police confiscate 11 kg of jaggery, arrest two individuals

Kagaznagar: On Tuesday, Sirpur police seized 11.1 tonnes of jaggery being transported in a vehicle.

The police acted on a tip-off and stopped an Eicher van at Venkatravupeta. Upon searching the van, they found the jaggery and arrested two people. The van was coming from Asti village in Maharashtra and was headed to Warangal, passing through the Sirpur police station area on the Telangana-Maharashtra border.

The police reported that the jaggery was being used to make banned “natusara,” an illegal substance. A case has been registered against the two individuals from Maharashtra, and the van has been seized.
