Hyderabad police are increasing their efforts to uncover a surrogacy and IVF scam linked to the Universal Srushti Fertility Centre. This investigation has uncovered many victims, including NRI couples, who have been deceived by this fraudulent scheme.

The Gopalapuram police have filed four additional FIRs after receiving new complaints. Victims accuse the center’s management of fraud, medical misconduct, and financial extortion.

One recent complaint comes from a woman in Hyderabad. She claims that Dr. Athaluri Namrata gave her hormone injections under false pretenses of a surrogacy procedure. She alleges that significant sums of money were extorted from her by staff members Dr. Vidyulatha, Kalyani, Seshagiri, and Srinivasa Reddy.

Further complaints indicate the scam extends internationally, with NRI victims losing about Rs 25 lakh. These victims have provided medical records and transaction details to support their claims, aiding the investigation.

Police identify Dr. Namratha and her team, including Dr. Sadanandam, Chenna Rao, Archana, and Surekha, as key suspects. They allegedly swindled a couple from Nalgonda district out of Rs 44 lakh by promising surrogacy services.

Authorities believe a larger network is exploiting couples seeking reproductive assistance. The probe continues, and more arrests are likely as police work to dismantle the scam at the fertility center.
